Consider a Winnie the Pooh baby shower tea party when throwing a baby shower. Most likely you are going to want a theme that is fun, even whimsical. A Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower Tea Party fits that bill. Tea parties are very in vogue today.
Do you remember when you were a little girl and you would play house and have tea parties? Well tea parties are still a great way to entertain. The mom to be will love that she can relax and still feel that she is being pampered.
Afternoon tea, with little tea sandwiches, small tarts and different teas always makes you feel as if you are attending a special affair. As with any party, once you have decided on the theme, you must decide the time and place for the party. The time for our tea party will determine your food selection. Afternoon tea is lighter fare with tea sandwiches, scones, cookies and one or two special desserts. High tea is served between 5 pm and 7 pm and has a heartier meal with several savory dishes such as meat pies, breads, cheeses, salads and cold meats. Of course, the cookies and desserts are to follow.
Now it is time to think about the invitations. I enjoy making my own invitations and you may too, have fun and get creative. Winnie the Pooh and friends have lots of character and places to create for you theme. Remember, the invitation sets the tone for the party, and you want everyone to anticipate having fun and a good time. On the invitation, there are a few things that you can request your guests to do prior to the baby shower that you can make this a very memorable event for the mother to be. More on throwing a baby shower
Decorating can be simplistic to whimsical it is really up to you. Some would prefer to use white linen table cloths with a honey pot holding fresh flowers at the tables, with Winnie the Pooh Napkin rings holding the linen napkin. This table might also have a collection of unmatched tea cups and tea pots. Others may choose to have bright colored table cloths, with Winnie the Pooh plates and serve not only a variety of hot teas but iced teas as well. Tea cocktail, without alcohol might also be a fun addition. Whether it is streamers and balloons, linens and videos taken when the guests arrive with special messages for the mom to be, this baby shower tea party is one happening place.
The best part about a tea party is the food. It can be simple, easy and can be made ahead of time. It gives the hostess much more time to enjoy herself and her guests as well as have time to enjoy the mom to be.
Tea sandwiches are dainty and tasty tidbits. I use several three tiered tea servers. It makes such a lovely presentation. I love to serve both savory and sweet scones and tea sandwiches. Have you tried a cheddar cheese and garlic scone with black tea? Delicious! Of course, everyone loves my mushroom cream cheese and bacon tea sandwiches. The pound cake and strawberry cream cheese tea sandwiches are always a hit and easy for any time of the year. I serve several different types of miniature scones, with about two bites in a scone, instead on the larger scones. That way, everyone gets to taste varieties that are offered. My scones are always a hit and yours can be too. If you do not love to bake find a bakery that makes spectacular scones instead of making them yourself. I always serve Devonshire cream, lemon curd and a variety of fruit spreads. For the savory scones, I may have some herb butters or herb infused cream cheeses on the tables. When throwing a baby shower, a Winnie the Pooh baby shower tea party can be a very memorable event that the mother to be and guests will enjoy remembering.
